On Butterfly’s Wings

Jewelry that includes insects dates from ancient times.  As a symbol of transformation, the Butterfly embraces change with ease and grace.  In 1924 the British Empire Exhibition included Thomas Mott’s butterfly wing jewelry exhibit and has been credited with making this kind of accouterment a fashion rage. Our 1920s NEC pendant is fresh from merry old England. She is a Morpho butterfly wing with Platinum plated setting joining vintage Czech glass and Labradorite (for enhancing one’s intuitive abilities) on Sterling chain and findings.
